When you spend as much time on the road as I do, whether it's for long trips or weekend drives, a CarPlay/Android Auto screen isn't a gadget: it's a road trip companion.
I've been using the Carpuride W702BS Pro for a while now, and it's already provided me with a certain level of convenience. But recently, a brand I wasn't yet familiar with – CARABC – contacted me after seeing my videos on YouTube. They offered me the chance to test their DB601 model as part of a collaboration.
And as always, I agreed on the condition that I could make my own informed decision.
Before even saying yes, I did my research: the brand's reliability, the quality of their support, the materials used, and user reviews. Once reassured, I agreed to test the DB601… and honestly, I wasn't expecting this.
Why test the DB601?
Because I was curious.
Because I wanted to see if a lesser-known manufacturer could actually offer something better than my already high-performing Carpuride W702BS Pro.
And above all: because you can only find THE right solution for your riding style by testing it yourself.
An excellent surprise from the very first minutes
First, the delivery was incredibly fast: the package was shipped on Friday, and I received it less than a week later, even with a weekend and a public holiday – kudos to the logistics team!
From the moment I installed it, I knew I was in for a treat.
The DB601 is compact, well-built, and above all, it seems designed for the road and its vibrations. But what impressed me most was the user experience.
iPhone pairing: simple and exceptionally stable
With some CarPlay devices, pairing can be temperamental, slow, or unstable.
With the DB601, it's the complete opposite:
fast connection
stable connection even over long distances
no lag, no freezing
CarPlay launches instantly when you start the motorcycle
For my daily use, this is a huge plus.
Why I prefer it to the Carpuride W702BS Pro
Let me be clear: the CARABC DB601 better meets my needs than the Carpuride.
Not because it's more "spectacular," but because it's more practical for motorcycle use.
Here are the advantages that truly made the difference:
1. More compact size = better integration on the motorcycle
The DB601's screen is more understated, with a design that blends better with the cockpit.
Less glare, less bulk, and more natural ergonomics.
2. Smooth and highly responsive interface
Navigation is fast, transitions are seamless, and CarPlay runs like clockwork.
3. Convincing brightness in direct sunlight
A crucial point for motorcycling: readability.
The DB601 performs surprisingly well, even on very bright days.
4. Improved Bluetooth Management
Between the iPhone, the screen, and the headset intercom systems, you need a device capable of managing priorities without dropping calls.
The DB601 did this perfectly during all my tests.
A 100% honest test, as always
I want to make it clear: yes, CARABC offered me this test, but my conclusions are entirely my own.
I never hesitate to point out what's wrong.
But in this case, I have to admit that this DB601 really impressed me.
It's not perfect (no device is), but for my motorcycle use, it's clearly superior to my Carpuride W702BS Pro.
